GRADUATE PROGRAM DEADLINES

The Graduate Programs Committee will monitor progress towards the degree. Request for extension of the deadlines must be made to the Graduate Programs Committee at least a month prior to the deadline. The following deadlines will be used to assess progress:

Ph.D.

• Supervisory committee --- by the end of the second term
• Coursework ---by the end of the third term
• Comprehensive examinations --- after completion of 45 credits, or 2 years, whichever comes first
• Application for Candidacy and Research Proposal --- upon completion of comprehensive examinations and at least three months before final defense

MS

• Supervisory committee --- by the end of the second term
• Coursework and Research Proposal--- by the end of the second term
• Comprehensive examinations --- within first year and half

If a student does not complete a requirement within the specified time will be placed on probation for one semester.  Students who do not meet the requirement during probation will be recommended for termination from the program.
