Career Information Links
The majors offered by the Department of Biology
prepare our graduates for a wide variety of careers or post graduate
education. These include:
· Basic and Applied Research
· Health Professions (see the link to the Prehealth Professions Program)
· Secondary Education
· Public Health (contact Dave Wallace)
When trying to choose a career or identify the best degree plan to meet
your objectives, your first step should be to meet with your advisor or
see Dr. Welker in the Biology Advising Center (BNR 101). An advisor can
provide initial guidance and may refer you to someone with greater expertise
in your particular area of interest.
USU Career Services may also provide valuable information and career assessment
services. Jennifer Loscher (Univ. Inn 102; tel. 797-1748) is the Career
Advisor for Science Majors.
Finally we recommend that you make use of the Internet. Using a search
engine or starting with the links provided below you will be able to find
useful general career information as well as sites devoted to specific fields
such as microbiology, entomology, ecology, forensics, etc.
