| AADSAS
AADSAS (American Association of Dental Schools Application Service) provides a uniform dental school application service. Most dental schools in the United States require students to use the AADSAS for application. There is a fee for this application service. The AADSAS is not a test! The information you provide AADSAS will serve as your application to those dental schools requiring the AADSAS.
The web-based AADSAS application material can be found on-line at www.adea.org. AADSAS can also be directly contacted for the application packet: (202) 289-7201 or (800) 353-AADS.
You may (and should) complete and submit your AADSAS without your DAT scores. DAT will automatically send your scores to AADSAS.
You should send your completed information directly to AADSAS at the earliest acceptable date, usually in mid-May. AADSAS will then take the completed information from the packet materials you send and arrange the information in standard dental school application form. A separate standardized application form will then be sent by AADSAS to EACH of the dental schools you have listed on your AADSAS forms.
The information requested on the AADSAS application form will describe your academic history, personal background, interests, and experiences. You must complete this application form carefully so that you present yourself in the best possible way. Before mailing your material, you should have others proofread your completed AADSAS application for typographical errors, spelling, grammar, and completeness and clarity of thought.
Pay particular attention to the autobiographical information requested for the AADSAS. The space provided on the AADSAS for autobiographical information is limited. However, the more complete and personal autobiography that will be requested by the USU Prehealth Professions Evaluation Committee can serve as a framework for writing this.
