INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE INTERNSHIPS, 2004

USU industrial hygiene students are required to participate in an internship. Usually in the summer between their Jr. and Sr. year, the internship provides a great work experience, professional networking, leads to future jobs, and (usually) a good salary. Besides, students say it’s a lot of fun!

Here are some photos of some recent USU students “on the job” at various internship locations throughout the west:

Tom spent a fascinating summer at a gold mine in Nevada (we think he liked going underground). Derek is checking the chemical inventory at electric power facility in Washington.

Emily enjoyed her experience at a Utah copper mine. Brian and Matt worked at a Washington nuclear facility.

Trent worked at a California semiconductor facility. Jeremy built this model to help train workers at a Utah power plant.

Rachael worked at a Utah aerospace facility. Here Jon is preparing sampling equipment for his internship at a Utah steel mill.

Miles spent his summer working for a Utah airbag manufacturer.
